Lena Faeskorn | Director, Producer, Editor, Cinematographer
Hi! I’m Lena, the director of Assemblé and a producer, editor, and cinematographer on the film. Back home in Massachusetts, dancing was a central part of my life for 13 years, and after some time away from it in Savannah, it’s come back into my life as the subject of my senior capstone film. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to combine my passions for non-fiction storytelling and ballet, and to showcase an under appreciated side of the dance world. Can’t wait to share more with you all soon!
Gus Carvell | Producer, Editor, Cinematographer
Hi everyone! I’m Gus, a producer, editor, and cinematographer on Assemblé. I’ve been involved in this project since the earliest development conversations with Lena, and I’m grateful to have been able to contribute in so many ways throughout the growth of the film. I’m driven by the chance to use non-fiction filmmaking to look deeply at the interconnectedness of the world around us. In that spirit, I’ve learned so much about the world of dance through making this film, and it’s been a delightful process!
Ashley Ralph | Co-Producer
Hello! My name is Ashley Ralph, and I’m a co-producer for Assemblé. When Lena and Gus pitched me the concept in early 2025, they immediately captured my attention, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it! My role involves managing the logistics of the project, including budgeting, organization, and project management. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to share the work of these behind-the-scenes ballet artisans.
Lucie Williams | Cinematographer
Hey, my name is Lucie Williamson, a Camera Operator and Director of Photography with a focus on documentary filmmaking from New Orleans. My visual approach blends observational realism with a strong sense of composition and atmosphere, emphasizing light and movement to highlight the emotional core of each subject. My work reflects a deep respect for community, culture, and storytelling, shaped by my Southern roots and hands-on experience behind the camera.
Olivia Pescatore | Graphic Designer
Hello everyone! I’m Olivia, the graphic designer for Assemblé. Working with Lena and Gus to find Assemblé's visual language has been a highlight of my graphics career so far. Long after my years as a toddler ballerina, I’ve had the privilege of taking part in countless performances of all disciplines, both on and off stage. Working on a film that highlights the backstage crew behind these productions is so special! I can’t wait for everyone to get a peek behind the curtain on how these amazing spectacles come to life.
Lizzie Humphrey | Assistant Editor
I’m Lizzie Humphrey, a junior film student with an interest in documentary editing, joining the Assemblé team as an Assistant Editor. I have no background in dance, but I’m interested in all kinds of performing arts, and I’m looking forward to exploring the intricacies of preparing for a ballet!
Reese Grant | Assistant Editor
Hey! My name is Reese Grant, and I'm working as an Assistant Editor on Assemblé! I'm currently a sophomore film major with a minor in editing, so I am very excited to be brought onto this project by Gus and Lena. I was a ballet dancer for most of my life, which makes the documentary's development even more engaging to watch. I cannot wait to see the finished product of all the hard work that has been put into this project, and I feel so grateful to be a part of the team.
Isabel Grace | Assistant Social Media Manager

While directing and writing are at the heart of my creative work, I love exploring every corner of filmmaking.
